Why Bamboo? It's a remarkably renewable and sustainable resource. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth. Once harvested, it regrows on its own, much like grass. Growing bamboo requires zero pesticides and herbicides; it's chemical free! Virtually every part of the plant is used - making very little waste in the process.
CARE: Wash before first use. Dishwasher safe. Do not Microwave. If you wish to use your plates every day or simply wish to prolong their use, hand washing will prolong the lifespan. After an average of a few years, bamboo plates will begin to breakdown and biodegrade. Please compost bamboo plates when you can. Enjoy!
Why China? China is the largest producer of bamboo in the world. To manufacture bamboo products right there where it is grown has a significantly lower carbon footprint. Because of this, we have partnered with a bamboo expert in China. They make the bamboo pulp with locally sustainably grown bamboo and mold the pulp into tableware. Our original surface patterns are the finishing touch to this innovative, lightweight, eco-consious dinnerware.

My purchase came quick. I received a discount for being a frequent customer. Tramke's Terrazzo bamboo plates was one of the choices. The plates feel like plastic. Design is beautiful. I think it should known that the plates are made in China. I wish that was in the description. I really like the plates.
